Re: Upton Park

Nope. Im also not worried about:

music after goals
half and half scarfs
half and half shirts
loads of daytrippers who dont support us
having to sit down every game
air horns
jester hats
flags, oh the flags

its going to be FANTASTIC

Is anyone else worried about the photo takers coming to our games when we get this stadium? I don't want an Old Trafford.

Of course we won't, he'll be what, 35.

That also assumes we will give Nolan a new contract..... unlikely I would have thought.

Re: Upton Park
So in 2 years time we'll be starting Nolan and building a team around him will we?

He's not even starting now FFS!

Re: Upton Park
Buster, I don't get your point?
no one has said it will guarantee success but it should help us to be more successful and therefore a bigger club, that is the point of the move.
If we weren't doing so well we'd still average 30k as we've done when in The championship in recent years as we are well supported, much mlike City!
Most clubs with big grounds face the same dilema which is what creates & drives the desire for success.

Re: Upton Park
the idea we may play Nolan makes you think we wil plummet out of the leagues?

Re: Upton Park
As the 6th or 7th biggest club in England in terms of fanbase HANDS DOWN its about time we behaved like the handful of clubs who finish above us every year instead of always being another one of the shit clubs beneath them.

People spouting off about not wanting billionaire owners are total twats. See any Man City fan crying and wishing they were back in the third teir?

This move can go both ways. I hope this is Allardyce's last season. The thought of us giving fucking nolan a start and building a side to accomodate him after the way we have been playing makes me think we could totally fuck the move up and plummet out the leagues though.

Re: Upton Park
Didn't someone say a maximum away allocation of 8,000 ????

Eggbert Nobacon 4:09 Wed Oct 29
Re: Upton Park
grump

an extra 21000 sitting in silence would be the end of west ham as we know it though apparently

it was said the allocations go from 1500 to 300 to 5000 for CUP MATCHES

You know the same as now

On the subject of away fans, I thought City's mob were terrible on Saturday.

Not taken them long to become just another team with a plastic population following.

If a team wants 5000 they get 5000, what's not to understand?

and you read this where?

SullyHammer 4:06 Wed Oct 29
Re: Upton Park
If we allow 5,000 away fans to attend at a league match that is a liberty. Do we get an allocation of 5,000 fans at stadiums that have a bigger capacity than the O/S? No. So why should we?

The only time we should permit an away side to have an allocation of 5,000 is for a cup game.

Always helps to spice up the atmosphere when there is a decent away following..... fucking horrible if the scabby fuckers are winning though!

Anyone who thinks 5000 away fans is a decent thing is mental...

Re: Upton Park
griffin, I wholeheartedly agree with you there. Despite the fact I think we've been a tad lucky over the summer and think that carroll and then Nolan being injured has played a massive part in our current on field displays and form, I haven't felt a buzz like this around the club in terms of the league in years.

IF we manage to kick on and have a good season then yes, I can see next year being even better what with the last season thing, but we're all getting carried away and it's not the 'West Ham way' not to get a few injuries to crucial players throughout the season. Next summer is going to be massive, we could potentially be fighting off bigger clubs for this summer's signings if they continue as they've started, Song may not stick around and we could end up back at square one.

This has been the best summer transfer window I can remember, I just hope that even our owners can't and won't fuck up from here. If we were moving at the end of this season I'd probably be a lot more relaxed about the whole thing right now, even if I'll always be dead against the move.
